As the old saying goes, sometimes no news is good news.
But in the case of caring for a loved one, sometimes no news or communication is a cause for concern.
Regular communication from loved ones, especially from those who live alone, reassures caregivers that they're safe.
But, imagine one day your normally communicative loved one hasn't been heard from for several hours.
It's natural for these generally harmless situations to raise fears in our head.
"What if something is wrong and that's why I haven't heard from them?"
"What if they need my help but they aren't wearing their pendant?"
"What if they lost their pendant and need help?"
On the other hand, maybe you have loved ones who are stubborn and known for taking off their pendant for extended periods of time because they think they "don't need it."
It's a perfectly understandable sentiment, but as caregivers, you just want what's best.
But the problem is, how exactly would you know if your loved one is OK and regularly wearing his or her device?
SafeGuardian's exclusive Inactivity Alerts come standard on all CareCaller™ devices, and its just the feature to calm those fears and protect your loved ones when they sometimes don't protect themselves.
When enabled, the CareCaller™ will send out a text alert to all contacts when no significant movement has been detected for an extended amount of time.
Here's How it Works:
- The caregiver sets a time threshold for the amount of time that must pass without activity before an alert is sent out, be that 5 minutes or 5 hours.
- If the CareCaller™ doesn't detect movement for that amount of time, it will send out a text alert to all programmed contacts. The alert will include the date, time, and real-time GPS location of the device.
- Caregivers can then call into the device to check on their loved one, if necessary.
Inactivity alerts are the perfect defense against the unknown and are just another way the CareCaller™ provides peace of mind to caregivers.
